YÉOL is a non-profit, volunteer organization formed to foster and promote interest in Korea's rich cultural heritage and ways to preserve it. Its programs include educational outreach in the form of lectures, field trips, and publications, and funding efforts to protect and restore damaged cultural properties. A land of long history and tradition, Korea possesses a vast number of cultural assets dating from ancient times to the modern era. Yet the true beauty and value of these cultural treasures are often under-appreciated and many remain neglected and abandoned. As Korea makes dynamic forays into the world, YÉOL seeks to disseminate knowledge on Korea's rich cultural heritage and develop ways to protect it from potential permanent damage and extinction.
