In January 2002,


the organization recognized "YÉOL" as its official name in the spirit of "properly preserving our old heritage".

Also in January, YÉOL held a meeting with participants related to the development of Bangudae, the prehistoric stone carvings near Ulsan. This developement subsequently led to a survey study? of Bangudae and the traditional Yangban village of Yangdong, near the ancient city of Kyoungju in April 2002. YÉOL requested a project assistance from Professor Choi, Won Mi of the Dept. of Architecture of Hanyang University and its second year students to help save Bangudae from further damage by both the elements and over-developement. In May 2002, YÉOL organized a field study of Sajikdan, state alter for land and crops of Choseon(Joseon) dynasty(1392-1910)

On July 17, 2002


YÉOL received our formal recognition as a non-profit corporate entity from the Dept. of Cultural Affairs of the Seoul municipal. Also in July, Ms. Park Son Hee was appointed as our organization's President.

On October 3, 2002


as Unesco Korea sponsored the international symposium on "Return of Cultural Property and the Fight Against Illicit Trafficking", YÉOL sponsored tours of the National Museum and Changduk Palace for participants of the symposium.

On October 5, 2002


YÉOL requested a formal investigation into the illegal exportation and possession of an artifact from Shinhung-sa Temple originating from the 17th century, by the LA County Museum of Art.

On October 21, 2002,


YÉOL held a lecture Seminar at Ilmin Museum. The Lecture was on the theme, " The Significance and the Role of Sajikdan of the Chosun Dynasty" by Lee Sung Mu, the Chairman of the National Institute of Korean History.





On December 19, 2001

YÉOL's founding members appointed the Directors and Advisors. During this meeting, articles governing our organiztion were set and operational goals defined. On January 4, 2001, YÉOL held its inaugural meeting where Ms. Kim Nyoung Ja was appointed our Representative Director.
